The Project
Fielders worked in collaboration with architecture firm, GHDWoodhead, on the highly anticipated B Apartment complex in Bowden. Valued approximately between $10-50 million, the 28,000sqm venue was the largest apartment building to be constructed in Bowden at the time and is an example of the higher density, urban model of living that the State Government is promoting within South Australia.
The state-of-the-art development is ideally located in the heart of Bowden and surrounded by key local attractions such as Bowden Town Square retail precinct and Kevin Taylor Park. The units offer residents unique views to the city and parklands, and allow them to explore the expanding suburb with ease.
The Solution
The Fielders specification team in Adelaide worked in consultation with the project architects, GHD Woodhead, on the profile requirements for their building design. Fielders supplied 700m2 of 220mm wide Fielders Prominence™ and custom flashings in COLORBOND® steel Shale Grey™ in a Classic finish.
Fielders Business and Development Manager (Commercial and Specifications), James Harrison, spoke of Fielders involvement with the ‘B’ Apartment project.
“Fielders Prominence™ is ideal for projects such as the ‘B’ Apartments as it is suitable for both roofing and walling installations. It is a rare mix that both architects and builders can appreciate, and which can successfully combine eye-catching street appeal with versatility, meaning there is no compromise on either style or practicality,” said James.
The 220mm wide Fielders Prominence™ was selected due to it's flat pans which provided a clean and modern finish to the exterior of the building. The product also allowed for simple and manageable installation, which helped SA Construct to finish the project by the intended completion date.
