BlueScope is proud to continue its support of the Emerging Architect Prize (EAP), presented by the Australian Institute of Architects, and congratulates all 2026 Chapter winners and national recipient, Michael Sneyd from EKD Architects.
The EAP recognises an emerging architect or architectural collaboration for their contribution to architectural practice, education, design excellence and community involvement. The award highlights early-career architects advancing architecture’s role in the broader public realm and strengthening its impact on communities.
2026 National Emerging Architect Prize winner
Michael Sneyd was recognised for his exceptional contribution to the profession through advocacy, leadership, education and community service, extending well beyond traditional architectural practice. His work reflects a sustained commitment to equity, access and representation, with a particular focus on regional, remote and First Nations communities. As recognised by the jury, Michael’s impact is defined not only by what he builds, but by the people, systems and futures he helps strengthen.
