An exciting educational building featuring 41 homebases and a rooftop terrace, set amongst stimulating school grounds designed to encourage exploration, play and physical activity, the 4-storey structure is a central part of the new Anzac Park Public School which officially opened in Cammeray on Sydney’s lower north shore late in the 2016 school year.
With the school being forward-thinking in its vision for learning and creatively utilising open modern environments to enhance learning, the new building features innovative learning spaces and the latest technology and is designed to ensure best practice collaboration and education.
The Solution
While the building is modern in its design and approach to creating an exciting educational environment, a traditional Lysaght favourite was chosen to clad the structure when the NSW Public Works - Government Architect Office specified LYSAGHT CUSTOM ORB® cladding for the project.
Equally suited to contemporary and traditional design, the pleasantly undulating nature of the LYSAGHT CUSTOM ORB® profile provided the perfect foil to the very linear architecture of the new building, along with strength and performance that will serve the school well into the future.
The Process
The project was developed with the NSW Public Works - Government Architect Office, in consultation with the builder, Lipman, with discussions on colour for the LYSAGHT CUSTOM ORB® cladding beginning in early 2015.
A decision was made on colours by the end of March 2015, and following this early engagement with the architects and builder regarding product appearance and performance - through collaboration with BlueScope, we supplied the three desired COLORBOND® steel custom colours of Laura Blue, Nile Blue and Sky Blue which were used to create the exciting colour palette that adorns the new building.
